Every garden is unique and each project has a life of its own but they tend to follow similar journeys.
Spending time with client, understanding the space and the clients aspirations are the starting point. From there I will draw up a brief with an outline of the process and the costs involved.
A site survey is key to understanding the site and its intricacies and its problem areas. Depending on the size of garden a full site sur]vey may need to be carried out. The fees do not include the cost of this survey but I am happy to arrange this service on your behalf.
I will then present the proposed scheme. This includes planting mood, material choices, detailing ideas and is a mixture of plan drawings, 3d sketches and mood boards. This is the first tangible visualisation of your garden and it is a discussion document which allows the design to change and evolve. I charge a fixed fee for the design concept.
All aspects of the design will be considered and detailed drawing submitted to make sure all the details are considered in the plan.
I produce detailed planting plans and specifications, you may wish to remain closely involved with the planting design, so whether you know a little or a lot about plants I will work with you on every step and provide a full planting list.
The only people who will work on your landscape are The Landscape Tailor and On the Ground Ltd employees. Our team members have experience and horticultural backgrounds, and we will all be familiar with your landscape needs.
We can do all kinds of landscaping, but our specialty is in mixing hard landscaping and naturalistic planting to make a landscape that meets your needs and fits the ecology of our area.
